A New Way to Apostrophe: Introducing Project Workspaces

In an effort to make Apostrophe’s Pro features even more accessible to our community, we’re pleased to announce the addition of a self-serve workspace to our website. You can now create and upgrade your Apostrophe projects with just a few clicks!

What’s the big news?

We have been hard at work over the past several months putting together one of the biggest advancements to the Apostrophe ecosystem since the release of Apostrophe 3. For our newsletter subscribers, you may remember that our CEO Alex Gilbert alluded to an exciting development last year, and we’re happy to announce that it’s finally here: introducing Apostrophe’s self-service workspace feature.

What does that mean?

If you can’t wait to see what we’re so excited about, you can create an account and start exploring the latest addition to our website on your own. This is a new and improved way of doing business with Apostrophe. On your own schedule and at your own pace, you can now create and manage Apostrophe workspaces and projects, and upgrade your projects to use Apostrophe’s Pro features.

What does this mean for Apostrophe?

Prior to adding the new workspaces feature, users and other interested parties have been reaching out to the Apostrophe team directly for support, sales, and partnership inquiries. In a move to make these activities more accessible while freeing up time for our team to focus on improving the product, workspaces are the first in many strides the company is taking to evolve and scale.

How will this impact existing Apostrophe customers?

We totally understand that some folks just need or prefer to talk to a human, and we’re pleased to assure you that reaching out directly to our team is not only still an option, it’s encouraged. We remain an open-source platform, both in functionality and in the philosophy we follow to guide the business side of Apostrophe and grow our developer community. Consider our new workspaces feature as an expansion to the ways in which we can engage with Apostrophe developers.

What does this mean for Apostrophe partners?

This is a great time to also highlight our trusted agency partners, for whom the workspaces functionality should be exciting news. Increased accessibility for our community translates to the same for our partners and their clients. If you are an agency working with Apostrophe, it is now easier than ever for you to offer Apostrophe as a digital solution.

What's next?

As of today, the only upgrade available through a workspace is our Apostrophe Pro subscription, which unlocks a collection of powerful extensions that you can install to expand the capabilities of your project. But we're not stopping there.

Up next, we're currently hard at work on adding the ability to deploy your project right from your workspace to our managed hosting platform, and adding the ability to upgrade your project to use Apostrophe Assembly in the same simple workflow.

We’re looking forward to making this experience better and more powerful, so make sure to join our Discord and let us know what you think and how we can improve it further.
